likes Jim Collins’ ideas about life and roles of educator, which are making sense of something difficult breaking it down to understandable pieces and teaching it to others. He also believes that life is about doing meaningful things with people you love.

For a dental academic, I have broad interests. Dentistry aside, I read widely in economics, psychology, philosophy, political science, and education. Surprisingly, I often find interesting parallels between different angles in these disciplines and those of clinical science. I particularly enjoy thinking and talking about contentious issues in endodontics as they make people think about why we do things the way we do.
I am involved in several hands-on courses in advanced contemporary endodontics, the use of microscopes in endodontics, and ergonomics.
I am interested in education. I have conducted several preparation courses for first-year endodontic postgraduate students. The course “how to learn effectively at the postgraduate level” aims to lay a solid foundation for new postgraduate students. It consists of four modules, i.e. how to read a paper, statistics for mathematically averse clinicians, how to write a paper, and how to present a paper.
I find interactions with students intellectually stimulating and very rewarding.
